Your borough, your property

The borough name is only the starting point. Conservation boundaries, Article 4 directions and previous permissions can affect neighbouring properties differently. We check the relevant information for your address.

Camden

Historic features can affect even small alterations. We check whether the property falls within an Article 4 direction and review the relevant conservation guidance before developing the proposal.

Islington

Conservation-area controls can affect doors, windows and external finishes. A property-specific check helps establish whether the proposed work can rely on permitted development.

Hackney

Article 4 directions cover locations including Brownswood, Beck Road and Well Street. We check the actual direction and boundary against the address and proposed works.

Official council guidance ↗
Haringey

Conservation guidance matters in areas such as Noel Park. We check the relevant appraisal, planning history and any Article 4 direction for the property.

Official council guidance ↗
Tower Hamlets

The council publishes separate Article 4 controls for small HMOs and some commercial-to-residential changes. These should not be confused with the assessment of a home extension.

Newham

Article 4 controls apply in areas including Durham Road, Romford Road and Woodgrange. We review the relevant area documents and the effect on the proposed alterations.

Official council guidance ↗
Waltham Forest

Article 4 controls operate across several conservation areas, including Walthamstow Village and Leytonstone. We check the specific restrictions before recommending an application route.

Council links checked on 22 October 2026. Guidance is general; maps and directions must be checked for the individual property. Council statistics are not a prediction of your application’s outcome.
